1961 Triumph T-100

Builder: Anthony Robinson
Build: 1961 Triumph T-100 named La Mosca (The Fly)
Company: Gasoline and Coffee

I always wanted to build a bike. What kid doesn’t?  I came a crossed this add in craigslist about a 61 triumph. I called the guy and eventually met up somewhere in canyon county 40 miles north of LA. He was driving this ratty old Toyota pickup full of triumph, bsa and Norton parts.  And there it was in the mess of it all.. this frame, ceased motor (unknown to me at the time) and wheels. I won’t lie, it was a pile. but it was my pile and I had a vision. I was going to build this bike. This was on my bucket list. I reached over, pulled the bike to have a closer look… wow! I have no idea where to start - everything on this was rusted, crusty, dirty, and oily. Had a hard time pulling it out of the truck, tires were deflated, seemed to be in gear, and the handle bars wouldn’t move. I eventually got this beauty in to my truck and headed home. I remember how I was so excited to get home to show the wife. Ha! I get home pulled it out of the truck staged it in the drive way and called for the wife to see this score I just picked up on craigslist. She did not see my vision. I think she exclaimed, what is that! (My wife came around eventually, about the time I brought the tins home painted she was on board. She is my biggest fan.) So I got a lift and started tearing this old girl down to every nut and bolt.

Project Cobalt Storm

Builder: Samuel Kao
Build: 1997 Harley-Davidson Sportster XL 1200 named Cobalt Storm
Company: JSK Moto Company

Project Cobalt Storm is our design concept on how to make the Harley-Davidson Sportster even more minimalistic than our Ivory Comet café racer (#ProjectIvoryComet), give you more reason to ride, and the itch to ride just by looking at it. With the Cobalt Storm, the styling needed to be timeless as possible without adhering to trends. We want something you will choose to ride more and further everyday, and take it for some light off-roading just because you can.

With this idea in mind, we found that it will be cool by adding tracker influences for an upright riding position and nubby tires to achieve some off-road capabilities. This gives us the performance of a café racer without the discomfort of a slouched position and more reasons to ride. But if that’s the main desire, the handlebar and tires can be swapped for the complete café racer ride.

A 2015 board tracker meets pro street style bike

Builder: Hank Thibodeau
Build: 2015 board tracker meets pro street style bike named Lo Life Luc
Company: Widowmaker CDR

The bike build came from wanting to expand my range of creativity by combining products that are not generally used together. After our success and reception we received with “Mushu Suzie” at the Washington DC IMS Show, I wanted to go further outside the box. I really wanted to challenge my skill level and create another bike that is not bought out of a catalog. I wanted something that showcased what we can do.

Well, I guess you can say the bike found me. I originally bought a Harley-Davidson 2002 Electra Glide Standard from a gentleman that had an accident with it. I ended up getting the bike on a deal and bought it sight unseen. I picked it up on a deal only to find that it was worth more to me if I sold it. It was one of those deals that people tell you about. So I ended up selling it to increase my bike build budget. The bike did not start as anything else. I bought the frame on sale from Midwest Motorcycle parts, and bought it with no idea as to what it would become. I decided I wanted to do a 2015 Twin Cam build and located the engine in CA. I guess you could say it is a 2015 if you are going by engine year model. If you are going by time of conception, 2017. I further scored a deal on a set of new wheels that came off of 2014 Harley-Davidson Breakout and had the transmission sitting, waiting for a home. Only then did I had the makings of a bike.

2016 Cleveland CycleWerks Ace Deluxe

Builder: Scott Colosimo
Build: 2016 Cleveland CycleWerks Ave Deluxe Modified named 216 Ace Scrambler
CompanyCleveland CycleWerks

This is a 2016 Cleveland CycleWerks Ace Deluxe, all of the scramblers are custom built for each customer, as so many customers have their own idea of what a scrambler should be, we just build them to order.

The Ace Deluxe is setup for on road and light off road duty from the factory.  Many customers have been asking us for a street scrambler that can do light off-road duty, and that is exactly what you see here.  Beefier tires with the Conti Twin Duro setup, wide bars, flat seat, the bike is very light and nimble, so it lends itself well to scramblerizing. So, with that in mind, we wanted a fun bike for on road, stoplight to stoplight, wheelie away, but also wanted something super beefy for gravel roads and camping.  Basically just wanted to build a fun bike to wheelie, I think that was the main criteria.

26" Harley-Davidson Big Wheel Bagger

Builder: Louie Bailey
Build26" Harley-Davidson Big Wheel Bagger
CompanyLucky 7 Custom Cycles

There is no real story or tale to this bike, aside from the fact that we wanted to build another badass bagger that actually RIDES day in and day out. That gets on the road everyday and is eager TO GO, rather than sit in the showroom or the trailer. That is our goal: to ride them to work everyday and look good doing it!

This bike build took some time and imagination and a few failed attempts, but the finished product is gnarly!! Motor work by GMR Performance to 107 upgrade. Body kit design by Insane Asylum. All body work, paint, airbrushing, molding, building done in-house. The conversion to a Road Glide definitely beefed it up! Many hours were invested by our awesome team at Lucky 7 Custom Cycles. We wanted to feature our painter and airbrushing artists' talent, our builders ability and detail, our style and love for a good looking custom Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Marc Marquez is Crowned the King of COTA

Taking his first win of this season today, Marc Marquez completed another perfect weekend at Circuit of the Americas, succeeding in Austin for the fifth-straight time after starting from pole position. Meanwhile, Dani Pedrosa made it a double-podium finish for Repsol Honda Team, posting a solid third-place result after leading the early going.

Marc’s win today also adds yet another important piece to Honda’s own domination in MotoGP events hosted in the USA. In fact, the last 14 MotoGP races on American tarmac have been won by Honda riders. (The last non-Honda MotoGP winner in the country was Jorge Lorenzo, at Laguna Seca in 2010.) Honda have therefore won 17 of the 22 premier-class Grand Prix races that have taken place in the USA during the MotoGP era. With this result, Marc and Dani move up the Championship standings to third and sixth places, respectively.

MotoAmerica Season-Opener at COTA

For the second straight day, Elias scored victory at COTA, the Yoshimura Suzuki rider matching his effort from a year ago with two wins. Like yesterday's Motul Superbike race, it didn't come easy as he had his hands full with two riders for the duration of the race. The first was his teammate Roger Hayden, the second was Monster Energy/Yamalube/Yamaha Factory Racing's Cameron Beaubier, the defending two-time MotoAmerica Superbike Champion bouncing back from yesterday's crash-interrupted eighth-place finish to beat Hayden to the line for second place.

With two races complete in the 10-round (20-race) battle for the Motul Superbike crown, Elias leads the way with his perfect 50 points, 14 clear of Hayden's 36. Beaubier sits third with 28 points, one better than Fong.
